Atlantic Theater Company
Atlantic Theater Company is an award winning Off-Broadway theater where artists at any stage in their careers can find a space for exceptional creative work. The Atlantic Theater Company’s programs for the development of new work reflect the institution’s leadership in the New York City artistic community.
Time Warner Foundation contributes to Atlantic’s commitment to support an inclusive and thriving artist community by funding the Launch and Amplified programs as well as new play development. Launch is a nascent commissioning initiative for early-career writers who’ve neither had a significant production nor been commissioned by more than three theaters. Amplified is a series of workshops for six new works. Amplified is a public reading series designed for six early and mid-career playwrights to workshop to further develop their plays.
The Atlantic’s commitment to new play development has resulted in numerous accolades including Stephen Adly Guirgis’ Pulitzer Prize for Drama for “Between Riverside and Crazy” and Obie Award Winning Plays, “Guards at the Taj” by Rajiv Joseph and “Skeleton Crew” by Dominique Morisseau.
