Storytellers

Lemon Andersen

(The Public Theater, Sundance Institute)

I HAVE ALWAYS been a day dreamer. It's how I escaped tough times that led others to drugs and violence.

I LET GO of playing with toys, but I never let go of playing. When I found out I could play with poetry in theater, the rest was history.

I WRITE for a young audience that typically wouldn't come to the theater. I write about their passions, experiences, language and their relationships. I write to draw them in.

MY WORK, IN SIX WORDS: Talent is given, greatness is earned.
