On Thursday, June 23rd, National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) kicked off its 2016 Media Summit, NALIP's annual gathering of Latinos in media. The Latino Lens Showcase kicked off the annual summit, and featured the work of three outstanding filmmakers: Maru Buendia-Senties (Windows), Rebecca Murga (One Halloween), and Alvaro Ron (Swimming in the Desert). These filmmakers received support and funding for the production of their films through NALIP’s Latino Lens Short Narrative Incubator program presented by Time Warner Foundation.
During the four day event, the Summit will convene to inform Latino artists of current trends in entertainment, especially with regard to the progress of promoting diversity in Hollywood. Time Warner Foundation is proud to support the creative growth of emerging storytellers and an organization developing artists with fresh perspectives.
